WE GATHER AS GOD’S PEOPLE
Lighting of the Memorial Candles and the Peace Candle
Call to Worship:
My heart rejoices in you
and I am strengthened by your presence.
I will not give in to the things that stand in my way
because, in you, I am a winner.
Praise to God, our Holy One!

You are the Rock on which justice stands.
Those who became rich at the expense of others
now find themselves grateful for stale bread,
but those who struggled to make ends meet
you have filled with good things.
Praise to God, our Holy One!

You lift up the poor and the needy
and make them more important than the rich and powerful;
you give them the best seat in the house.
For the earth belongs to you
and the creation is rooted in your goodness.
Praise to God, our Holy One!

*Hymn: #220 Praise to the Lord, the Almighty
